How To Beat The Monday Blues

How I Cope With Monday Morning Anxiety.

So many people get the Monday blues.

It is a serious issue and for some people their Monday anxiety can actually start manifesting itself on a Sunday.

This is so sad because it can leave them feeling anxious, depressed and even ill if they can't find a way of overcoming this feeling.

I really don't understand it as I feel like Monday is the best day of the week.

I remember a song from my younger days

"I don't like Mondays". by Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats.

It was a cult classic for many years and lots of people still think to this day that Bob had the right idea.

Well the good news for you is.

I love Mondays, and I want to help you overcome your Monday blues.

Mondays are an opportunity for a fresh start. and one of the best tips I can give you is to start planning for the weeks ahead. Yes this includes holidays or time that you want to take off to recharge.

Having a diary with all of your holiday planned out in front of you will sharpen your focus on the time you have available.

You can set up your marketing and social media campiagns to go out on autopilot. Benefit is if you find yourself low on energy come Monday, well it won't matter as you will be ahead of the curve.

Here are 4 more power tips that I use to make Mondays one of my best days of the week.

I Changed My Monday Mindset

I don’t make Monday a miserable day by thinking that I should be super productive on my first day back to work after the weekend……. boo that.

Monday for me is the perfect day to be productive doing tasks which will help the whole week.

I might clean out some files or set goals for the week or chase up emails from the previous Friday.

I complete a To Do list on a Friday before I finish for the week.

This list will always have 3 small things that I can do differently on the following Monday.

Some of the small things I have included have been

  • Waking up 30 minutes earlier on a Monday so I can focus on personal development
  • .Starting my week with a healthy breakfast instead of the fried variety
  • Calling my mum before I start the day, she always cheers me up with her cussing

Use Mini Meditations  To Beat The Monday Blues

If I find myself struggling to get in the groove on a Monday, I will do some mini meditation.

I’ll find a place of solitude, sit down, set my alarm on my phone for 2 minutes, close my eyes then count my breathing.

It is amazing what peace this brings me throughout the day.

You should try it………

Turn Monday Into Funday, Harness the Friday Feeling and elminate monday anxiety

We all live for the weekend, but why wait until the weekend to do the things you enjoy.

I often organise a mid-week night out with the wife on a Monday.

Nothing too heavy, maybe a meal, or cinema (although that is getting expensive)

Having a something to look forward to mid week after work helps to

Harness that Friday feeling and breaks up the flow of the week and keeps me from getting bored with the mundane.

Focus on you Body and Soul to remove monday blues on a sunday

I try and adopt healthy habits on the weekend, to make me feel more energetic and happier.

I read somewhere that the mind and body are interconnected,

The food we eat,

The sleep we get and

How active we are can alter our body chemistry, which in turn, can alter our mood and thoughts.

So I don’t have a lie in as my body would think that is the norm rather than the exception

I generally have breakfast every weekend, even though I don’t have this important meal normally during the week.

And I take my little Bulldog Dexy on long walks around my local area.

So there you go 4 things that I do to make the Monday blues go away which results in me being happier and more productive.

Over to you now.
