7 Marketing Strategies For Your Small Business

7 Marketing Strategies For Your Small Business

Marketing is integral to every single business. It’s how you get your business known, how you get your products and services known. And essentially how you increase brand awareness and grow your business.

The difficulty is that there are numerous different marketing strategies out there. Each suited for a different type of business depending on what industry they’re in. And also what their aim is and where they want to be.

As a small business, it can sometimes seem like you’re always swimming against the tide. However, there is a quick way to turn this around and that is to get your marketing strategy right.

Today we are going to look at the different marketing strategies that can be utilised by small businesses to grow the business. It’s important to note that these are just SOME marketing strategies that can be implemented. The perfect strategy for your business all depends upon your situation.

Utilise Google My Business In Your Marketing Strategy

This is a hugely underutilised and undervalued tool, especially if your business is one that looks for customers and clients locally rather than further afield. The reason it is so powerful is that if someone searches for ‘plastering service’, if they allow Google to pick up their geographical location. It will then list local results rather than a list of plasterers nationwide. Making it quicker for the person searching to get relevant results. And propelling local businesses to the top of the page. You can sign up today by clicking here.

Offer discounts and coupons

People more than ever before are looking for ways to get the most out of their money. Studies have shown that voucher and discounts are more in demand than ever before. With consumers frequently scouring the web for discounts. And potentially leaving their basket and opting for a competitor if they offer vouchers and you don’t.

There are ways to get your offering of discounts known through websites such as GroupOn and even better browser extensions such as Honey which pro-actively let them know.

Incentivise your staff

A strategy that is underutilized in a lot of businesses. Is gaining referrals of new customers through your staff. After all, they are perfectly suited. Knowing both the business. And also having the first-hand experience of the customer base that you’re targeting. And if you provide them with an incentive, such as extra holidays or bonus payments. It gives them that extra motivation to try and get as many referrals as possible.

Join local business groups

Social media is a wonderful free marketing tool and has been great for small businesses throughout the country. Many counties, towns and regions all have local groups for businesses on social media platforms. This is great for you to get your business known throughout the local area whilst at the same time to network with other like-minded business owners from the country. The advantage of using these localised groups is that you can more rapidly enhance your brand.

Team up with other businesses

Consider going into a joint venture with a business that compliments the services that you sell without increasing the level of competition to your business. A good example is if you run a website design company. Who don’t offer SEO services. Why not propose a business that solely does SEO services. That you can refer them in return for a fee and at the same time for them to do the same gaining you more customers.

Sponsor local businesses and sports teams

One great way of raising the profile of your business locally as well as providing a service to the local community is through sponsorships. This could be through sponsoring your local football team or even donating gifts or service to a local raffle. This as well as getting your business exposure also puts your business in a good light and boosts your reputation as a local business.

Keep your website up-to-date

Your website is one of your most valuable digital assets. And is a central place where customers can find out about you, your business and your products/services. It also allows you to monitor consumer behaviour, respond to queries and conduct market research. Always keep researching the trend that websites are heading towards. So that you can keep up-to-date so that you don’t start to fall behind and your website both functionally and aesthetically starts to become outdated.

These are just some of the strategies that your business can look to integrate and adapt. Not only to gain you new customers but to also satisfy and retain your existing customer base.
