Should You Use Influencer Marketing

Why You Should Consider Influencer Marketing.

Over the years, there have been many different ways to get your product noticed. Through TV campaigns, social media campaigns, word of mouth, email marketing, and much more.

But there has been another method that has emerged as a result of the power of social media. And that is through a group of people who are referred to as influencers and an advertising strategy referred to as influencer marketing.

As the name might suggest, these people are typically prolific on their social media pages with a very big social following.

This means that anything they endorse or promote they can influence over, swaying the thoughts and opinions of their audiences to whom they've built a close community following.

Steering them away from the typical business to consumer relationship and instead using the influencer as an intermediary.

Essentially you are relying on these people and the influence that they have over their audience to be able to market both your product and the key message behind the product as effectively as possible.

This is to increase the exposure of the product and to relay the benefits to the general public.

So what about the cost?

When it comes to the cost of influencer marketing, this can vary. It all depends on the prolificity of the influencer you are wanting to use, the size of their audience, and their overall status and influence in your particular industry.

Meaning it can be quite costly to have someone who has 25m+ followers to promote your products, but at the same time, you could really capture a sizable portion of that audience in traffic to your website.

Although when it comes to the cost, this can sometimes work in one of two ways.

Some influencers may want a certain flat fee for promoting your products, others may instead opt for a commission-based return based on how many sales you have gained through their post, which would require affiliate tracking or a certain voucher code.

What benefits does influencer marketing have?

Apart from getting your business, product, and/or service exposure, what other benefits does utilising influencer marketing have?

Well, foremost it shows credibility and trust. If an influencer is promoting a product they are also putting their reputation on the line.

They will want to promote a product that does what it says on the tin and isn't at all deceiving people.

And so if you have an influencer marketing your product, it shows that they have the confidence in your product and this then relays the confidence onto their followers.

This is vital as if someone is going to buy a product from you they need to have confidence that they are making the right decision purchasing the product and also the belief that it does what it says it will.

The audience of an influencer will most of the time have trust in what they are saying and will follow their recommendations.

It also means that through just one single social media post you can have thousands, hundreds of thousands or potentially millions of hits to a page on your website.

This means it is down to you to ensure that you have the right assets and calls to action in place on that page to convert as many of these visitors as possible to sales.

If an influencer continually helps promote your products and your brand, this is where you start to build brand loyalty.

In summary

When it comes to influencers, each of them has its niche audience. And so you're going to want to choose an influencer that is relevant to your business, industry, brand, product, and/or service.

The reason for this is that if you choose an influencer that has let's say interest in cryptocurrency. And yours is a product relevant to the industry, they straight away have your target market as their audience.

This saves a lot of time with them having to market a product that is almost unknown to their audience base. And also saves alienating them.

It also means that the investment you're putting into having the influencer promote your product, the more value for money you are getting.

So reverting to the question that we asked at the start, depending upon the size of your business and the nature of your product and/or services.

It is very beneficial to use influencer marketing as part of your overall marketing strategy. And it can help grow your sales and also help you grow your brand.
