Create a logo and brand for your business

A logo is essentially the face of your business. Many successful businesses such as McDonald’s and Nike are instantly recognisable purely because of their logos.  So it’s certainly worth investing time into creating your logo. However, creating a logo doesn’t have to be a long-drawn-out process.  There are plenty of tools at your disposal to create a professional logo quickly. The best of which is Canva.  Your logo also plays a crucial role in how strong your brand is. So starting your journey off with a strong logo will certainly put you in good stead going forward.

Why you should consider using canva to create your logo

To start off designing a logo through Canva. First head on over to the website and get yourself an account registered.  You have the option of signing up either with Facebook, Google or simply with your email address. Once you’re in, you’ll see that you can either design a logo from scratch or you can use one of the thousands of templates that they provide you with. What makes Canva so preferable to many businesses looking for logos is that they have pre-made designs to cater for any need. For example, if you want to create a Facebook cover photo, they have a template for that, the same goes with one for a profile picture, an Instagram post and many more.  This saves you time in adjusting the dimensions yourself leaving you more time to get cracking on with designing your logo. Now when it comes to the actual logo design, you’re going to want to keep it simple. Overloading your logo will simply put your target audience off straight away. Next, you’re going to want to look for some inspiration.  Look at the competitors in your industry and get a feel of what the current ‘in’ style is. Canva is also perfect for business owners and start-ups as it’s free. When you’re first starting on your business journey you’re going to want to cut costs wherever you can and that can also include on graphic design.  For more help with using Canva, take a look at this blog post Hiring the services of a graphic designer can be costly, especially when you’re wanting a logo package for each of your social networks and your website. So cutting back on these costs will help you in your first few years of business.

What is your brand

Now, the brand. The brand is essentially representing your business as a whole and what you’re about.  A strong brand is essential to succeeding in business. As we’ve touched upon already a logo plays a huge role in your brand.  In addition to this, you’re going to want to create a mission statement to advertise to customers exactly what your business is about. It’s good to be selling your services and products but that’s not all you need to succeed.  Customers now more than ever want to buy from a business that is both ethical and responsible, and one of the first places they look at to see if you are both of them is online.
